You Had an Idea

You had an idea.

You fell in love with it.

Eventually, you started telling people about how excited you were about this idea.

Some of those people even encouraged you and thought it was great.

So you kept dwelling on it.

The more you thought about it the more excited you became.

Then once the idea grew enough to lead you to start planning, you got stuck.

But isn’t that always how it goes?

You already knew that would be the case from the beginning.

You knew that in the end, it would be nothing but an idea.

There were zero chances of it becoming reality.

You don’t have what it takes anyway.

So you move on, forget about it and life continues just the same.

Days, weeks, months pass then it’s suddenly on your mind again.

It wasn’t even intentional.

I guess you could say it hasn’t given up on you yet.

Or, maybe it’s the other way around.

Either way, it’s back. Again.

And it’s driving you absolutely bonkers thinking about it.

Because wouldn’t it be great if it happened?

Oh, the possibilities!

So here you begin to repeat that same old question: “What if?”

That same question which caused the idea to form anyway.

And you just can’t seem to outrun it.

It started just as an idea, but since you're running, you may as well run with it.
