What I'm Learning.
One cool thing I learned at work this past week.
Sometimes random skills you gained in the past will come in handy unexpectedly. I wouldn’t have guessed that origami and hand-lettering skills would help me at work - but they did!
One cool thing I learned outside of work this past week.
These past few days I’ve gotten the opportunity to learn a little bit about live musical productions. My sister was in a play and I got to see how the directors organize different scenes, how the different teams work together, and I also got to help backstage for one of the performances.
How I'm Creating Value.
One example of how I created value.
Staying on top of things and completing tasks before I was asked to do them.
What I’m doing to become a better version of myself overall.
Asking myself some hard questions related to myself as an artist and calling out the excuses I use to prevent myself from reaching my potential.
Praxis Wednesday Re-cap.
Topic & guest.
Personal Branding and Learning Out Loud with Madison Kanna.
My favorite highlight.
Madison has a really interesting story of how she went from being a clothing model to a software developer in one year. Her story was definitely inspiring and I loved her personal examples of the benefits of learning out loud.
My biggest takeaway.
Be paranoid about creating value.
How I’m going to apply that takeaway to my life.
Look for excuses to do so.
This week our exercise was to share something we’ve recently learned with another participant. I talked about some of the cool tricks I’m learning in Excel and the other participant I was paired with was sharing what she’s learning about photography.
