I could go on and on about why I love people. People have always been very interesting to me. I’ve always loved learning about the different personality types and how different people function - it’s like each person sees the world a different way. When you look at it from that perspective, it’s almost like there’s many worlds that exist within our physical world. Who wouldn’t want to explore each one a little bit? Everyone is different. Everyone has different perspectives, different ideas, and different capabilities. But something almost magical happens with people that are unlikely. What do I mean by this? I’m talking about the people out there that have gifts but it just doesn’t make any sense for them to “go places” as society likes to say. I’m talking about the waitress that has amazing painting skills, but she’s stuck at work and can’t make time for her art. Or maybe the taxi cab driver that’s downright funny but can’t commit to becoming a comedian. The truth is that these people can change the world. Everyone can. We all have something to offer the world that the next guy doesn’t, and it’s very unlikely that most of us are willing to wrestle the world to let it happen.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to take advantage of my differences and setbacks and to look at my weaknesses as opportunities. This is why I love people, because not only do we have different skills but we also have different weaknesses. Taking people that are unlikely to change the world and bring them together to form an alliance creates an amazing ripple-effect of creativity. This is one of my biggest passions and it’s of my biggest motivating factors in life.
