For months now I’ve pretty much had the same nightly routine. Around 9:00 once I’ve finished all of my work, I’ll watch a show with my sister and my brother. (Not the youngest brother, he’s usually already in bed.) Lately it’s been “Sherlock” and to be honest, I’m having a hard time staying interested. I’m just waiting for the next seasons of “Stranger Things” to come out.
Around 10:30 or 11:00, I’ll go back to my room and do my daily writing. I’ve always had the personality type to reflect on my day at night anyhow, so turning it into a nightly writing habit was a pretty easy transition.
After I publish my blog post I get ready for bed and put on some music. I’m such a nerd. I have “night” music and “morning” music that I cycle through. (I know, I know. It’s weird.)
On the nights I’m not sleepy (yay, insomnia) I’ll listen to a podcast or watch some videos on YouTube. I try to stick to the educational stuff so I’ll listen to psychology or entrepreneurial podcasts. But on occasion I’ll watch a Jared Dines video because who doesn’t love Jared Dines?
I write this because I have a feeling that sometime I’ll be missing this routine as time moves on and I adjust to new circumstances. It’s always important to be thankful in the moment. Even if it’s the seemingly insignificant moments.
Don’t take things for granted.
