Do you ever have those days when all you do is “get in the zone”? I mean those days when you're completely focused on one project, task, or creation, that you forget to do anything else. For some reason, you wake up with an urge to do that one particular thing, and the next thing you know, it's 3:00 and you still haven't eaten anything. Those are the best days!
Today was that kind of day for me. Yesterday, I bought a stack of blank cards so that I could make “thank you” notes in light of the holiday season. I'm not sure why, but ever since I was a kid I always loved the stationery section at stores. (Maybe it's a blend of my creativity and my excitement for learning.) Well, I got so excited about those blank cards that decorating them was the first thing I did this morning.
All day, I was “in the zone”. It was totally refreshing, and much needed.
When was the last time you were “in the zone”? What were you doing?
See, most people assume that the best way to get out of a funk, or refresh your mind, is to binge Netflix or take a vacation. Both of those are good and fun ways to relax, but it's even better when you have a day completely devoted to one thing that you're passionate about. If you need a day off, do something that makes you come alive.
